SETI RECEIVED RESPONSE ON VARIFORM 2 FROM UNKNOWN GALAXY

Last night, SETI, the agency responsible for the search for extraterrestrial intelligence in outer space received a a possible response to Variform 2. Variform 2 was first broadcasted on the 9th of April 2012 at the E-Werk venue in Saarbrücken, Germany. It is believed this broadcast traveled millions of light years into outer space after its first transmission. Until last night this was thought to be a unappreciated attempt to annoy intra-terrestrial intelligence with an unpleasant audiovisual experience.
On 9 September 2014 at around 19:34 local time, SETI researchers at University of California, Berkeley discovered what may be a response to the Variform 2 broadcast from April 2012. Although data still needs to be authenticated by other SETI stations, the response is preliminary considered authentic and likely from an extraterrestrial source.
J. Scott, researcher at SETI, Berkeley said: "We couldn't believe our eyes at first, but all of a sudden we received data coming from another galaxy using the same unreadable font used in the Variform 2 broadcast". When we asked where the message originated from, J. Scott postulated: "We are not sure. It is a galaxy behind the Andromeda and Orion galaxies, we first thought it was Orb, but Orb is not a the name of a galaxy and the term is only used by astrologists, not astronomers. It may be totally new". Scott continued: "But we are very sure that this is a message from a form of extraterrestrial intelligence!".
The received data is currently being analysed. The font appears to be unreadable therefore SETI requested a team of typography experts to decrypt the received message. Early prognoses suggest the translation might be finished end of 2014.
